गंगा गौरी डिग्री कालेज, रामनगर, बैजाबारी, आजमगढ़
आजमगढ़ जनपद के उत्तरांचल में रामनगर (कुकरौछी) नाम का एक गाँव है, जिसमे बैस ठाकुरों का निवास है। यही से इस जनपद का देवारांचल प्रारम्भ होता है। इसमे ठाकुर गंगा सिंह नाम के एक विख्यात जमींदार थे, उनके पुत्र गौरी सिंह के वर्तमान वंशज सर्वश्री गजेन्द्र सिंह, डाँ० शैलेन्द्र सिह, बालकृष्ण सिंह, अशोक सिंह, बालमुकुन्द सिंह, संजय सिंह, बालमिक सिंह कृषि कार्य के अतिरिक्त विविध प्रकार की सामाजिक सांस्कृतिक सेवाओं में संलग्न है। श्री गजेन्द्र सिंह के नेतृत्व में परिवार संयुक्त परिवार की मान्यताओं को निर्वाह करते हुए प्रतिष्ठा पूर्वक जीवन यापन कर रहा है। श्री गजेन्द्र सिंह मुंबई में अपने अन्य भाइयों के साथ फ़िल्मी उद्योग के विविध आयामों में कार्यरत तथा विख्यात है। डाँ० शैलेन्द्र सिंह होमियो पैथिक के अनुभवी डाक्टर है, जो क्षेत्र के चिकित्सकीय सेवा में कार्यरत है। श्री गजेन्द्र सिंह तथा परिवार ने अनुभव किया कि क्षेत्र में अच्छी उच्च शिक्षा का आभाव है। इसकी पूर्ति के लिए विज्ञान और कला संकाय के महाविद्यालय की स्थापना का संकल्प लिया गया। इसके लिए इसी ग्राम में भूमि की व्यवस्था की गयी। गाटा सं० 2 क्षे. 0.1130, गाटा सं० 3 क्षे० 1.2380 तथा गाटा सं० 10 क्षे० 0.7740 कुल मिलाकर 3 गाटों का क्षे० 2.1250 हे० भूमि सुलभ हो गयी जो एक ही स्थान पर है। संस्था स्थापना के लिए "श्री गंगा गौरी स्मृति संस्थान" समिति का पंजीकरण कराया गया जो सोसाइटी के रजिस्ट्रार के प्रमाण पत्र संख्या 222/2004-05 दिनांक 29.06.2004 पर पंजीकृत हुआ।
